How Do I Use My Library Account?

Access Your Library from Renew Books

1. Log in with your Last Name and your La Verne ID.

 

2.  In your account you can view your fines, renew your items, and see the items you have checked out.

 

 

How Long Can I Check Out a Book?

The loan period of a book depends on your rank at the University of La Verne.  Some of the standard loan periods are:

   
Undergrads   35 days
Honors 60 days
Masters 90 days
Doctoral 90 days
Faculty 180 days

LINK+ books check out for 21 days.

ILLiad book loan period is set by the lending library.

Fines

General Collection

There are no daily fines.

Books:  on the 20th day late items are billed. 

DVDs, VHS tapes, and Popular Reading books: on the 10th day late items are billed.  

All items are charged $100, which includes a $75 replacement fee plus a $15 processing fee and a $10 fine.

When a billed item is returned $90 will be credited to your account, leaving the $10 fine.

 

Hourly Reserves

Hourly reserve items are charged $1 for every hour they are overdue; daily reserve items are charged $1 for every day they are overdue.

 

LINK+

Link+ items: $1 per day.

On 15th day you are billed $115, which includes a $75 replacement fee plus a $25 processing fee and a $15 fine.

When a billed Link+ item is returned $100 will be credited to your account, leaving the $15 fine.

 

ILLiad

Items lent through ILLiad but not via Link+ are charged $1 for every day they are late.

Your La Verne ID is Your Library Card!

Overdue Notices

Courtesy reminders, overdue notices and fine notices are emailed to your La Verne email.

Courtesy notices: 3 days before your library books or videos/DVDs are due

Second notice: 10 days after the item was due

Bill for the item(s): 20 days after the item was due. (For more information on billed items, see the Fines Policy).
