The ASC's student resource pages contain a variety of resources to support students with Writing, Research, STEM, Languages, Graduate Programs, Test Prep, and Technology.
Share these ASC tips with your students.
Review all your course syllabi and Blackboard sites in advance - be prepared with questions when you attend your classes
Go visit your faculty member’s office hours during the first couple weeks of the semester- make an effort to get to know them and to show your commitment to their class
Get your planner and/or schedule in order - establishing a productive schedule early on will help you as you progress in your semester
Connect with an Academic Coach - an Academic Coach will help you to organize your time, study effectively, balance your obligations, and connect you with other campus resources you may benefit from
Make tutoring part of your study habits - come in early, and come in often. Research shows that working with a peer tutor - and engaging in collaborative learning - helps students retain course content and students’ academic performance is enhanced
Review the ASC resources available to you - these resources were developed specifically for students based on common questions and challenges students experience and bring to the ASC
Find your “tribe” on campus - get involved and get connected. The ASC is a great place to start in gaining connection with others at ULV who are here to support you!
Be confident in YOU! You are here for a reason, you deserve to be here, and you’re going to do GREAT!
