Community Health

Welcome to this Community Health subject guide!  The study of community health involves many disciplines including epidemiology, public administration, environmental studies, sociology, psychology, physical education, nutrition, nursing, medicine and health promotion & education. Therefore, a variety of databases and several library guides may be useful in your research.

The broader term public health is inclusive of community health and refers to the health of society as a whole. Community health is concerned with protecting health, promoting health and preserving health in a defined community. These three aspects correlate with the areas of epidemiology and environment, health promotion and education, and public administration (health care management and services).
