What’s the greatest lesson you learned during your college experience?
The greatest lesson I learned during my college experience was “don’t let life pass you by”. I found that as much as I wanted to achieve the highest grades possible, I also needed to have fun and enjoy exploring what life has to offer around me.

Who is favorite your teacher/professor that you have studied under?
My favorite professor that I have studied under has been Dr. Ricardo Morales. He’s always had a smile on his face, tells the best chemistry jokes, and was always available for office hours whether it was in person or online during the COVID-19 pandemic especially for the Physical Chemistry course. I couldn’t have imagined going through these past 4 years without him.

What is your favorite memory at ULV?
My favorite moments at ULV have been with my best friend Sarah. ULV gave me the opportunity to make life long friends and I definitely made a real one.

Kassidy

Major: Psychology

Position: Peer Consultant

What accomplishments are you most proud of?
Successfully getting into graduate school! I was accepted into all of the graduate schools I applied to, but I am most proud of getting into my #1 choice: the Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy program here in La Verne! I will be continuing here in the Fall.

What are you happiest doing, when you’re not working or attending classes?
I really enjoy painting, taking care of my dogs, and  spending time with my boyfriend. I also really love Taylor Swift, so if I am listening to music, it's almost always hers! Hopefully soon I can spend my time having fun at Disneyland, my favorite place as well!

Who is your favorite teacher/professor that you have studied under?
I have really loved all three classes I've taken with Dr. Alfaro in the psychology department. She is so funny, and just a great person in general. She can be a tough teacher, but that is what makes her great. She is very motivating and puts so much care into every student's needs. It is clear how important it is to her that her students are successful.

What is your favorite memory at ULV?
My favorite memory is meeting classmates and professors from different backgrounds that have encouraged me to pursue career growth opportunities. Most importantly, I have gained many skills by engaging with my peers and by having amazing professors that care about their students academic and professional growth.

What’s the greatest lesson you learned during your college experience?
The greatest lesson I learned about college is the importance of networking with your peers and faculty. By networking you are able to open new doors and opportunities that you never knew existed. Hence, I was able to outline my next journey and career path.

Brittany

Major: Psychology, with a minor in Child Development

Position: Communications Specialist

What accomplishments are you most proud of?
The accomplishments that I am most proud of are graduating from college and growing so much during my time at ULV. College has truly allowed me to get to know myself better, learn about what I am passionate about, and how I can help others as well. During my time in college I joined Iota Delta and in that sorority, I took on a leadership position which I would have never thought I would do. However, it has been one of the best decisions I have made in college. Overall, I am really proud of the journey that I am on and the direction I am headed in.

What’s a goal you have for yourself that you want to accomplish in the next year?
A goal I have for myself is to continue doing things that bring me joy.

What are you happiest doing, when you’re not working or attending classes?
The things that brings me joy when I am not in class or working are playing with dogs, tending my plant babies, yoga, listening to happy music, basking in the sun, spending quality time with my fiancé, family members, or best friends, hanging out virtually with Iota Delta sisters, and binge watching movies or tv shows.

Suzette

I am the proudest of the fact that I am the first in my family to graduate university.

Who is favorite teacher/professor that you have studied under and why are they your favorite?
Dr. Paul McMahon is my favorite professor because he is funny, engaging, and very honest. I appreciate his unique perspective on different psychology concepts due to his job at Patton State Hospital. He made classes interesting with his anecdotes and sense of humor.

What are you happiest doing, when you’re not working or attending classes?
When I am not in class or working, I enjoy snuggling with my cats and binge watching Netflix shows.

Joseph

What's the greatest lesson you learned during your college experience?
The greatest lesson that I have been taught during my college career is to be involved in the community and network yourself out. A lot of my networking connections and past jobs have all come from my connections.

What were your deciding factors in choosing your major?
Being able to play with computers and make them operate as intended, or not intended, is very fascinating to me.
