Data Visualization

What is Data Visualization?

Data visualization is presenting data in a visual or graphical format. Charts, graphs, word clouds are some of the examples of data visualiation

Before you visualize your data...

ask yourself...

  • What type of data are you working with?
  • What information are you trying to provide?
  • Will there be any extra explanation for the visualization? (either oral or textual)
  • Are a number of different types of graphics relevant to your data?
  • Keep all visualizations clear and to the point. Having too much information on one can cause confusion.
  • Sketch out the visualization before using your selected software.
