Databases for finding law review and law journal articles

HeinOnline
Law Campus | Off Campus

HeinOnline is a digital archive of legal periodicals. Each journal is available from the first issue, except the last three to five years may be inaccessible. The Law Library Journal Collection contains more than 3,000 scholarly journals and is listed alphabetically. Access is available both on and off campus. 

Search Tips:

To conduct a search, use the search box at the top of the screen. Once results are displayed, you can further narrow the results by refining them on the left side of the screen. Filters include: date, subject, title, etc.

To conduct an advanced search, select advanced search at the top of the screen under the search box. The advanced search option allows you to search by article title, author or specific law reviews. 

Citation Navigator: If you already have a citation, then select citation navigator at the top of the screen. This link will redirect you to a separate page where you can enter a journal's volume number, abbreviated journal title and page number. 

Westlaw/TWEN-Law Reviews and Journals

Westlaw can be used to search for articles in law reviews and law journals. Access is only available for law students and law faculty.

Search Tips:

Select Secondary Sources under the get started box. Under the By Type section, choose Law Reviews & Journals. Once selected, you can type search terms in the main search box at the top of the screen. Publications are listed alphabetically by title.

Results can be further narrowed using the filters on the left side of the screen. Filters include: publication series, topic and jurisdiction.

LexisNexis-Law Reviews and Journals 

Lexis+ can be used to search for law review and journal articles. Access is only available for law students and law faculty.

Search Tips:

Law Reviews and Journals can be found under the Secondary Materials category.  You can run a free text search in the search box at the top of the screen or you can narrow search results by jurisdiction and practice area before conducting your search.
